Bingo is an entertaining and fun game that has been played for many years. In the past, Bingo was played primarily in game halls and churches however today one can play Bingo almost anywhere and in practically any form. People play the game of Bingo at gatherings, functions, Bingo halls and online. For those who are not familiar with the game of Bingo, one can get a glimpse at how the game is played in the paragraphs which follow and an in-person Bingo game will be described in order to illustrate the Bingo process.
In order to get started, the individual must visit an establishment that hosts Bingo games. These can include churches, festivals or a Bingo hall. Depending on the establishment rules, individuals will purchase either one complete set of paper cards to be used, one per game, throughout the entire Bingo playing experience plus a dauber to mark off their numbers or purchase one card that has sliding covers to cover over the numbers. Each establishment will charge their own specific prices for the Bingo cards and set rates accordingly. Once everyone has purchased their Bingo cards, it is just about time for the games to begin.
The Bingo card is a 5 x 5 grid with the word B-I-N-G-O spelled up above the columns. Each column will include a letter that is part of the word Bingo and the first column will be the "B" column, the second will be the "I" column and so on and so forth. Everybody will be given a card with a unique format of numbers on it. The way in which Bingo is played is that the Bingo caller will call out numbers that are randomly chosen by the Bingo machine and if a player has that number they will either cover the space with a marker chip or use a dauber, i.e. bingo pen, to put a mark on that particular space to show that it has been called.
The object of Bingo is to fill up all of one's spaces according to the particular game which is being played. For example, regular bingo requires that a player obtain numbers in a row vertically, horizontally or diagonally across the board. There are many different forms of Bingo games which can be played such as four corners, postage stamp, six pack and blackout. Each game should have a different bingo pattern to it as this makes the game even more exciting and unique for the players. Once the individual player has filled up all of one's spaces in accordance with the announced bingo pattern they should yell "BINGO" and the Bingo host will check their card to verify that the Bingo is valid. Once a Bingo has been called, the game ends, the prize is awarded and the next game begins.
Bingo is a great game for individuals of all ages to play. Not only is the process fun and exciting for the players but the rewards that may be reaped by the winners make it even that much better.
